Eric Schaefer has a long track record of success in both college, club and high school volleyball. At ECP, his 16-Liberty team won the club’s first major tournament, winning the MAPL Power League-Raleigh crown. Every member of his 17-Steel team was recruited to a D1 college program. His 18-Diamond team won the Boston Volleyball Festival National Qualifier, the first time an ECP team won a USA bid to nationals.
Under the leadership of Coach Schaef, Cavaliers volleyball has emerged as one of the leading Division III programs on the East Coast, and he ranks among the top 25 most-winning DIII college coaches. Coach Schaef also boasts a 228-95 career record, a win percentage of better than .700. Coach Schaef has been named CSAC Coach of the Year three times.
He has also coached boys volleyball at Haverford High School, his alma mater, and served as the girls’ varsity coach at Haverford for six seasons.
Schaefer earned a bachelor’s degree in education from East Stroudsburg University in 1996 and received his master’s degree in education from Wilkes University in 2005. Schaefer resides in Havertown, PA. He has two children, Kayleigh and Tristan.
