In 2018, ECP announced that Chris Ho, a long-time area coach, and ECP boys Director, would be taking over as the boys Director of Club Lehigh Power, as the result of a wonderful merger between programs.
The resulting Club Lehigh Power is a growing boys club volleyball program offering players of all ages in King of Prussia and Lehigh Valley the opportunity to train at the highest level and compete in regional and national club volleyball tournaments.
“Chris has the knowledge, experience and organizational skills that we need to continue to grow our boys program,” said Coach Brian McCann, executive director of Club Lehigh Power. “He also brings a true passion for this game, proved by the fact that he has done so much to promote and support this sport in our region. I know he’s the right person to grow our boys teams and help make it an exciting and competitive program that helps both players and coaches reach their full potential.”
Coach Ho takes the helm of CLP with more than 25 years of experience in the Pennsylvania volleyball community and brings a long list of accomplishments.
Many of you know Coach Ho best for his leadership/ownership of East Coast Volleyball, as a grass volleyball tournament organizer that sponsors some of the most popular doubles volleyball tournaments around, including the season kickoff tournament Mayfest, as well as Horsham Day, Keystone Frenzy and Sportsfest, among others. Coach Ho also organizes the annual PrezDay Classic tournament in Lehigh Valley, one of the region’s most popular indoor girls tournaments.
He also has served as the USA Volleyball Keystone Region chairman of Outdoor/Beach volleyball, as well as tremendous involment in several local charities and organizations.
“My goal is to grow the game and create as many opportunities as possible for boys in our area to play volleyball,” said Coach Ho. “It’s important to me to give back to a sport that has so significantly shaped my life.”
Coach Ho also has extensive coaching and playing experience. He is one of the few area coaches with Cap-III certification, the highest USA Volleyball coaching accreditation, as well and a BCAP-II certification, likewise the highest. He has served as an assistant boys coach for Yorktowne Volleyball, and as assistant coach for women’s programs at Penn State University-Abington, Agnes Irwin High School, and PVHS. Prior to coaching for the past two years with ECP, Coach Ho also coached teams at Synergy and Freedom Volleyball clubs, and helped with several other local middle school and CYO programs.
He played for the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania men’s volleyball club team, and as a high school player winning consecutive Hawaii State High School Boys Championship while playing as an OH/DS for Punahou High School on Oahu.
