Coaching Experience: Been playing volleyball for 20 years, coaching on and off for the past 10 years. Coached boys/girls club, girls/boys high school, and womens/mens college club and varsity levels.
Coaching Philosophy: I’m a firm believer that, “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard”.
Best Volleyball Moment: At USAV Adult Nationals 2018 in the AA finals of silver bracket playoffs, I got a solo, terminating block against a big pin hitter who’s currently a “big” on the AVP tour. Between the timing for where we were head to head in the match and then realizing my middle block wasn’t going to close, getting that block was the best possible end to that emotional roller coaster.
My Life in Sports: Well, I can’t really summarize my life in sports, because since experiencing volleyball for the first time I’ve never gone without it. The only times in my life I wasn’t actively playing or coaching was due to injury. My life and volleyball just go hand in hand.
When I’m Not Coaching Volleyball… I enjoy competing in tournaments, attending open gyms, fishing, cooking, traveling, reading.
Favorite subject in school: “Human Behavior in the Social Environment”. Opened up my eyes to a lot of the silly things we do on a daily basis in various situations.
Last Book I Read: Toughness by: Jay Bilas
Favorite movie: Remember The Titans.
Favorite Quote: “Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know there’s something in you greater than any obstacle”.
